Mary Richardson Executive Vice President
Mary Richardson is Executive Vice President and a founding partner of Richardson, Richter & Associates, Inc. (RRA). Ms. Richardson is recognized for her work in structuring innovative institutional arrangements and in facilitating governmental units in the development of complex public policy. She has extensive experience in working with local government as an attorney and as a public policy advisor.
Ms. Richardson is routinely involved with Board administration, project management, policy and strategy development, public communications, the legislative process, and negotiations of complicated agreements among public entities and between public and private parties.
While Ms. Richardson’s career includes substantial work in environmental and housing policy, her current practice focuses on transit. Ms. Richardson serves as a special assistant Anoka County Attorney and advises the Anoka County Regional Railroad Authority. Prior to forming RRA, Ms. Richardson served as Project Manager for the Ramsey/Washington Resource Recovery Project, Ramsey County Director of Policy Development, Assistant Washington County Attorney, and as an associate in the office of General Counsel of the Metropolitan Council and in the City of Boston Law Departments.
Ms. Richardson has 30 years of experience as an advisor to the public sector, and has advanced training in conflict resolution from MIT-Harvard Public Disputes program. Ms. Richardson also completed Hmong, Latino and Somali Cultural Proficiency Training in 2010.
Ms. Richardson earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and American Studies from St. Olaf College, her Masters in City and Regional Planning from Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government, and her Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law.
